A friend told me about her three-year-old grandkid who ran up to her and showed her an AI photo of herself in the arms of Jesus. She asked her, “Who is this?” The little girl promptly replied, “It’s me and God!” Then grandma asked her, “Does God have a name?” She looked grandma straight in the eye and said, “His name is God and he looks after me.” This is the faith of a young, three-year old who takes life for what it is, in all it’s simplicity.
Sadly, as adults we have lost our wonder and simple faith. We crowd our life with things we consider important and urgent. We often go about life like a whirlwind, attaching seemingly important stuff to our spinning cortex. If and when we do sit down, which inadvertently happens at sobering moments like attending a funeral, we are confronted with a reality check.
The simplicity and joy of childhood innocence is unrivalled by any materialist feat we can attain. We live in a world where ‘instant’ is the buzz word. Need I say more on that? Compounded to our ‘instant’ world, is our ‘loud’ world. So many things are competing for our attention that we have squeezed thought life into the ‘impossible corner’ of our brain.
The more socially accepted nuances and mainstream patterns have absorbed our lives, the less we reflect on the simple truths that have stood the test of time. How many times have you heard or read the phrase by Jesus, “Go in peace, your faith has made you whole.”? Simple, childlike faith is all that is required to unlock endless power resources.
Anecdotal
A welder found he could not work because both his knees were badly affected by arthritis. He went to see a friend who he knew was a prayerful Christian man. The welder told his friend about his knees and his inability to work and how reliant he was on having steady legs. His friend asked if he could pray for him and he said yes. So the friend prayed for him and asked God to heal him of this handicap in both his knees. To this welder’s amazement, the pain left him immediately and he could flex his legs with ease. He was overjoyed and could now return to his work as he had received an instant miracle! He told his friend that his God is real and answers prayers so profoundly.
Do you desire that simplicity that unlocks endless treasure?
Read more about the miraculous here: Luke 4.38-39 – fever gone; Luke 7.1-10 – paralysis gone; Luke 8.42-48 – haemorrhaging gone; Luke 18.35-43 – blindness gone; Luke 22.50-51 – severed ear restored.
There are so many more miracles that are still happening today.
