TRUTH
T – true
R – rest
U – under
T – trusting
H – hands
In a world full of chaos, counterfeit and confusion, the heart often trembles. What seems wrong is considered right and vice versa. Truth can be viewed as ‘looking for a needle in a haystack’.
When people lack calibre and when cunning and crooked behaviour is applauded, we realise that the moral code has been eroded. Truth and justice are still the hallmarks we value. Where can truth be found?
Proverbs 4:24 NIV says, “Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.” This is good and pleasing living standards. Proverbs 10:32 NIV says, “The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.” So guard what comes out of your mouth. Be true to yourself and upright in your ways.
There is much to be gained from truthfulness. Psalms 34:12-13 NIV says, “Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.” When you die, what will be the lasting legacy you leave? ◊
